A multidisciplinary platform supporting independent projects since 2003
Opening is a multidisciplinary platform created by Matteo Fieni (2003–2025), developed at the intersection of art, culture, visual research and social projects.
Since 2003, with the domain opening.ch, Opening supports and produces independent projects that explore the relationships between creativity, society and technologies. Our work bridges traditional knowledge with contemporary research, connecting art, science and collective experience.
Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that society, nature and the human being are — and must remain — beautiful. Not in a superficial sense, but in the enlightened and spiritual dimension of beauty: a pursuit of harmony, clarity and dignity. Through our work we seek to reconnect this beauty with everyday life, revealing it as both a cultural responsibility and a shared experience.
A documentary and awareness campaign on road safety and sleep, exploring the cultural, physiological and political dimensions of rest.
Exploring the intersection of traditional fermentation practices and contemporary research, fostering resilience through food culture.
An artistic investigation into privacy, surveillance and public space in contemporary society.

Metropolitan portraits capturing the essence of contemporary urban life and human connections.
A critical artistic project examining consumerism, identity and the standardization of contemporary life.
Cultural exploration at the crossroads of tradition, spirituality and contemporary expression. Currently in incubation phase.
As a visionary producer, artist, photographer, fermenter and independent researcher, Matteo Fieni's work bridges traditional knowledge with contemporary research. His projects connect art, science and collective experience to foster resilience, awareness and meaningful social impact.
Opening collaborates with Centro Generativo, a platform for cultural and artistic incubation. This partnership creates an ideal framework for exploring new formats of cultural production and collective learning.
